Open enrollment for 2019 is just around the corner. Here are some updates and reminders about the process that may be helpful as you shop.
2019 Open Enrollment Period
The open enrollment period for 2019* health coverage for individuals starts Nov. 1, 2018, and ends Dec. 15, 2018.
We also made some changes to our payment processes this past year. Here is a quick recap.
First month’s payment due with application. Be aware that we will need your first month’s premium with your application to start the enrollment process. We will not be able to complete your enrollment or send your new coverage information and materials until that first payment is made.
Do you make your payment through Auto Bill Pay? If you get a notice in the mail recommending a plan for next year and are enrolled in Auto Bill Pay, your recurring monthly payment or monthly withdrawal through electronic funds transfer (EFT) will continue. You do not need to do anything.
Auto bill pay. If you decide to pay by automatic payment through EFT, funds will be drawn from your account on the last business day of the month prior to the month of coverage. Your premium for February will be paid on the last business day of January, and so on.
Catch up on past due payments. Keep in mind that when you renew Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma coverage or re-enroll by selecting a new product, you will need to be current on your premium payments. Any past due premium payments from 2018 will be due at the same time your first premium payment for your new coverage is due. New coverage will not begin until all payments are made.
